Happy New Year,
and although a bit late, I wish you all a wonderful year ahead.
According to the traditional calendar, this year is the Year of the Horse. The Fire Horse, which comes once every 60 years, is known for its strong energy — a horse running powerfully through the year.
Ceramics is a practice of working with the energy of fire, deepening one’s own creative process.
Drawing on the many trials and errors of 2025, I will continue to build on what I have cultivated so far and stay focused on my work.
As in previous years, I will continue traveling between Paris and Frankfurt, valuing new encounters and inspiration along the way. Focusing on making is essential, but once a cycle comes to an end, I feel the need to step outsideand see a different world.
This year, I hope to see many different skies.
The first photo shows a teapot I originally made many years ago, revisited in a smaller size in Paris.
By gradually refining the existing model,
I aim to develop it into a more functional and thoughtful form.
Thank you for your continued support this year.
Michiko
